  The Optipump™ design has been further optimized during the short Norwegian summer.

  Some minor but nevertheless important modifications, have been done.

  As you know, a prototype is never “finished”, there will always be improvements to implement.

• Optipump™ stands up to the pressure

  June 18. 2009

   

  The new generation mud pump is now undergoing function testing prior to the Factory Acceptance Test, FAT.

  Most of the Optipump™ functions have been verified. In addition, the fluid ends and manifold assembly has been pressure tested successfully to 7 800 psi.

   

  After the general staff vacation, our industrial partners and invited guests will attend the Fabric Acceptance Test.

  In the February 2009 edition of the StatoilHydro’s ”We” magazine, Optipump™ is used as an example of a prosperous, cost effective, coming product.
  StatoilHydro concludes that the pump will contribute to increased regularity, reduced drilling cost and more effective operations. Optipump AS is proud to announce that the prototype, so far, seems to live up to these high expectations.

• The Optipump™ is materializing

  All the vital parts are now finding its way to Tonstad in Sirdal,

  where the innovative mud pump is assembled.

  Our partners StatoilHydro and Innovation Norway
  enthusiastically inspected them during the combined Steering- and Technical Committee meeting January 15.

   

  “A pump is no longer a pump”, exclaimed StatoilHydro.

   

  The first step was to verify that the main bearings matched the bearing house.

• Optipump AS' industrial partners

  Optipump is a part of the StatoilHydro’s Vendor Development Programme, LOOP.

  Such an industrial cooperation covering both financial funding and competence transfer is of great importance for a start-up business like Optipump.

   

  Earlier this year, Innovation Norway, IN, approved and IFU contract with Optipump based on the Prototype Project. IN’s support is highly appreciated.
